I came back three hours later to find the liquid inside was still hot.If you are like me, you'll be willing to follow the instructions to save yourself from all the hassles others have.1. Hand wash the mug. I didn't find the beaner to be too useful because it is small. This mug is great. With a bigger beaner, you should still be able to use the keyring and you can attach it to bigger items (like a backpack strap), so you might find that this is a good solution. It will get dirty because it comes in contact with the beverage.2. Personally, I didn't find it that useful and don't care to use it.
The lid snaps apart, so you can clean it out and properly dry it. If you want your beverage to be really hot/cold for a long time, prep the mug by filling it with hot/cold water and letting the insulation get used to it before filling in your beverage.Notes:-I haven't used this mug for cold beverages, so I cannot comment on that.-The packaging includes a keyring which fits on the mug, and a beaner that goes on the keyring and anything you want to attach it to. Be sure to close the top between periods of drinking if you want your beverage to stay hot/cold.4. This will avoid the disgusting smell and mold that others have seen. Also, make sure it can dry thoroughly.3.
It kept my beverage warm in my car while I was skiing on the mountain - no joke. Don't put any parts in the dishwasher. While I'm on this note, take off the rubber gasket too, and clean and dry it separately. Always take apart the lid when cleaning. If you aren't willing to do it, don't bother getting the mug because you will be complaining in just a few weeks.
I've used it for over a month in car travel so far so good, no leaks, keep hot long enough till I finished. Wanted a health safe hot commuter mug that's capable to keep my hot coffee longer and no leak. Get a bottle-sponge cleaner. One down side is cleaning it, bottom is deep and narrow for adult hands. Read many reviews on this and other travel mugs, the Thermos 14 oz. Leak-Proof was most convincing.
This is a very attractive and well-built mug, but it is quite a bit smaller than I expected.
I can close this, put this into my leather bags, and not need to worry that it will spill over everything.Very pleased with this purchase and hope they don't ever discontinue this mug. I've been using this mug nearly everyday since I've been gotten it and it is absolutely perfect. It is leak proof when the lid is twisted in tight, keeps hot drinks hot for hours and hours, and easy to drink from.
These make great gifts too. Watch for when these go on sale, and pick some up. I've purchased a bunch of these mugs and have gradually been replacing all my other travel mugs. The only downside is the handle makes it a bit difficult to fit in the car's cup holder if you have more than one beverage. A bit more expensive than other mugs, but worth it. They don't spill, and keep coffee warm for several hours. I'll fill my cup in the morning, and the coffee can stay warm all the way until lunch.
